This guide shows how to perform the engine oil and filter change on a Royal Enfield Himalayan. The first step is to secure the bike and start it to thin the oil. Next, after placing splash guards under the drain valve and preparing a container for disposing of the used oil, use a 22 mm spanner to open the valve. Using an 8 mm spanner, remove the bolts securing the inspection cover of the mesh filter and extract it. Refit the clean filter and close the cover; install the gasket on the drain valve and tighten it in position. On the opposite side of the vehicle, unscrew the three 8 mm bolts and allow the oil to drain from the filter. Remove the old cartridge and clean the housing. Add a little oil to the new cartridge to facilitate oil circulation. Reassemble everything in position. Fill the tank to the correct level and run the engine for a few minutes. Check the level and top up if necessary.
