How to replace the timing belt on a Fiat Multipla engine? Lift the car on a column lift or jack (if necessary, remove the front wheel using a screwdriver to detach the right wheel arch liner). Once these operations are completed, lift the bonnet, remove the engine soundproofing panel and the timing belt cover. Use a spanner to loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. After fitting the new belt, use a spanner to tension the tensioner pulley until the correct belt tension is achieved (as previously mounted). Finally, check the new parts installed and tighten everything with the spanner.
