The fuel lock on the Fiat 500 is indicated by a yellow warning light. The fuel lock on the Fiat 500 activates in the event of an accident, rollover, or impact of a certain force.

This system prevents the risk of fire by stopping the fuel flow and shutting down the engine. Additionally, after the shutdown, it is not possible to restart the engine without deactivating the fuel lock.

To deactivate this important function, first switch off the ignition to avoid draining the battery. The procedure to deactivate the fuel lock on the Fiat 500 is as follows: Turn the ignition key to the MAR position, turning on only the ignition.

Activate and deactivate the right indicator, then the left indicator. Repeat the previous step a second time.

Turn the ignition key to the stop position. Turn the ignition key to the MAR position.

The fuel lock is now deactivated.
