How to Install New Speakers on the Rear Panel of a Fiat 500

Model: Fiat 500 500 L - Years 2012-2023

To install the rear speakers on a Fiat 500, start by removing the rear seat - the procedure is the same for both a single seat and a split seat. Now, remove the seat base: two more 16 mm bolts secure the seat to the body. Next, remove the seatbelt bolt using a 13 mm spanner. Then, take off the rear passenger pillar panel. To remove the side panel, you need to take off the central pillar where the passenger seatbelt is located. A 17 mm spanner is required for this. At this point, the panel, which is clipped in, will come off easily. Additionally, remove the scuff plate by taking out the screws that hold it in place. Now your rear panel is free, and you can remove it as it is held in by pressure. Be careful, as while it requires some force, it is also easy to break the plastic clips. The original speaker is not secured with screws but with rivets, which need to be drilled out using a 4 or 5 mm drill bit. Exercise utmost care when drilling out the rivet! Now the speaker is free. Remove the connector and you will need a bit of skill to create a small wooden adapter ring to fit between the new speaker and the bodywork. At this point, connect the wires and the connector, and reassemble all components in reverse order, as well as repeating the entire process for the left side.
