How to Repair the Fuel Cap on a Fiat Grande Punto

In this video, we will see how to repair the cap of a Grande Punto. You will need another cap, which you can obtain cheaply from a scrap yard, allowing you to recover some parts: remove the rubber cable holder, then separate the two parts by leveraging the clips, using two small screwdrivers on two nearby clips and with a third screwdriver to lever the other four tabs. At this point, we need to remove the metal spring from its seat; consequently, we must remove the pin. Repeat the process on the "donor" cap. Clean the pin thoroughly with WD-40. Now hold the plastic teeth with its internal spring, and in the meantime, insert the pin, ensuring it is well seated and that there is no risk of the teeth on the other side being ejected. Reassemble the two parts of the cap. Position the cap and reattach the safety catch.
