When to Replace the Timing Belt on the Ford Focus 1.6 110hp

Model: Ford Focus MK 3 - Years 2011-2018
Part: Timing belt

Replacing the timing belt has always been a maintenance task that concerns motorists, as it requires significant labour and a replacement kit that is not always economical; however, with the introduction of new materials in the automotive industry, maintenance intervals have significantly increased, from simple oil changes that in long-life programmes can reach up to 30,000 miles, to the timing belt; in the case of the Focus, Ford recommends replacement at 200,000 miles or within 10 years, but it is the opinion of the author not to exceed 5 years or 120,000 miles.

How to Remove the Gear Knob on an Opel Astra

How to replace the gear knob on an Opel Astra? Follow these steps: use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if you need to replace it). Grip the knob with both hands and pull it upwards (with a strong and decisive motion) until it comes off the gear stick. For installation: fit the new gaiter and position it on the centre tunnel, take the new knob and push it onto the stick, tightening it until fully threaded. Test the movement of the stick on the centre tunnel to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
