An Oil Leak Indicator That Can Become a Major Problem on a Ford Kuga

In this video, we see how a small detail noticed on your vehicle can indicate a significant mechanical problem. On this Ford Kuga, small dark spots were noticed on the rear tailgate; these were oil spots, misted by contact with the air, coming from inside the vehicle. Upon examining the vehicle from underneath, it was found to be covered in oil, which was coming from a broken oil seal, staining the entire exhaust, soaking the clutch, and causing considerable damage. The repair was costly, as the clutch and release bearing were replaced (all for an oil seal), but it was nothing compared to what could have happened. Therefore, do not neglect these signals and pay close attention to every little warning your vehicle may give you.
