To remove the external handle on a Ford Focus, loosen the screws securing the lock cylinder to its housing: these screws will be located on the side of the door, accessible by opening it. Once these screws are removed, you can slide the cylinder out of its housing to free the handle; after the handle is removed, you can position the new one into its housing, reinsert the cylinder, and check that everything functions correctly.
