What is the Honda N Wgn Kei Car?

Model: Honda Honda Various

Video tutorial

The Honda N-WGN is a kei car produced by Honda for the Japanese market only. Kei cars are a unique feature of the Japanese market, introduced in the immediate post-war period.

These are small vehicles (kei car means "light vehicles") that enjoy lower insurance rates in Japan and are easier to park due to their compact size. They have a distinctive yellow registration plate with black writing.

Japanese manufacturers push technological development to the maximum on this type of vehicle, which is then reflected in export models. This is because competition among producers in this market is very strong.

Returning to our N-WGN, it was introduced to the market in November 2013, with the second generation already in August 2019. It features a front engine and rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, and a 658 cc petrol engine. The current dimensions are 3,395 mm x 1,475 mm x 1,675 mm with a kerb weight of 850 kg. Its dimensions and engine capacity make it unsuitable for the European market, and indeed it is not exported outside Japanese borders.
