Opening and closing the front hood of a Mercedes A-Class vehicle, model W169, is a very simple and quick operation that you can do on your own, thanks to our short video tutorial. To open the hood, first open the driver's side door and then pull the bright orange lever located under the steering wheel.

The hood will release, but to open it completely, you need to insert your hand into the gap and press the latch. To keep the hood open, use the prop rod. To close the hood, remove the prop rod and let the hood fall back down.
