Opening and closing the front hood of a Mercedes A-Class vehicle, model w169, is a very simple and quick operation that can be done independently thanks to our short video tutorial. To open the hood, first open the driver's side door and then pull the fluorescent orange lever located under the steering wheel. The hood will release, but to open it completely you will need to insert your hand into the indentation and press the latch. To keep the hood open, you will need to use the rod. To close the hood, you will need to remove the support rod and let the hood fall shut on its own.
