How to Remove and Replace the Timing Belt on a Hyundai Getz

Here’s how to remove and replace the timing belt on a Hyundai Getz. Lift the car on a column lift, remove the front wheel using a screwdriver to detach the right wheel arch liner. Using a spanner, loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. Use a socket to unscrew the tensioner pulley retaining bolt, then remove the water pump as shown in the video. Fit the new water pump, the tensioner, and the belt itself, tightening everything with the socket. Finally, fit the screws with the arch liner and refit the wheel with the tyre onto the vehicle.
