How to Clean the MAP Sensor on Hyundai Tucson

Here’s how to clean the MAP sensor on the Hyundai Tucson. Remove the engine cover, then disconnect the electrical connector for safety.

Using a 10mm spanner, remove the sensor located in a very visible position. To clean it, use a soft brush to remove the accumulated dust.

Shake it well and blow on it—do not use an air compressor as it could damage the membrane inside. Ensure you can see the vanes at the bottom.

Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the area on the engine as well. Now you can refit it by replacing the two 10mm bolts, reconnecting the electrical part, and putting the cover back in place.

Job done.
