How to Change the Engine Oil on a Kawasaki Z650?

To change the engine oil on the Kawasaki Z650, start by placing the bike on a centre stand for stability. Remove the oil filler cap, usually located on the right side of the engine.

Use an appropriate spanner to unscrew the cap and allow air to enter the oil tank. Next, locate the oil drain plug, typically found at the bottom of the engine.

Position a collection tray under the drain plug and use a spanner to unscrew it. Allow the used oil to fully drain into the tray. Once draining is complete, remove the oil filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring to lubricate the filter's sealing ring with new oil. Tighten the oil filter securely.

Finally, re-tighten the oil drain plug after ensuring it is properly sealed. Slowly pour the recommended amount of new oil into the oil filler through the filler cap. Check the oil level with the dipstick, ensuring it is between the minimum and maximum levels.

Replace the oil filler cap and start the engine for a few minutes. Check the oil level again and add if necessary.

Ensure there are no leaks and that everything is in order before removing the bike from the stand.
