How to Change the Engine Air Filter in a Kia Sportage

To replace the engine air filter in a Kia Sportage, open the bonnet and locate the air filter box, situated in the engine compartment and connected to the intake duct. Unclip or lift the fastening lever of the cover, then open the filter housing. On some versions, there is also an internal latch that must be turned to release the filter element. At this point, extract the old filter, clean the inside of the box by removing dust and debris, ensuring that dirt does not enter the intake duct. Then, insert the new filter in the same position as the previous one, checking that it is correctly seated, and close the cover, securing all fastening devices. Finally, ensure that the filter box is perfectly closed before starting the engine.
