To replace the chain on a KTM Super Duke 1290 R, first loosen the bolts securing the cover protecting the sprocket on the left side of the bike: after this is removed, break the chain at one point using a chain cutter. Then, loosen the nuts securing the rear sprocket and completely slide out the chain to remove it from its housing: at this point, position the new chain around the sprocket, install the rear sprocket, and close the chain with the appropriate link.
