It is recommended for this model to top up with 10W-40 synthetic oil. Run the engine for a few minutes to make the oil cast and lower its viscosity. Turn off the engine, use a 17 wrench to unscrew the lower drain bolt and collect the used oil in a pan. While the old lubricant runs out, unscrew the oil filter and screw the new one you purchased, as shown in the video. Screw the bolt that acts as a plug to the drain hole and load the quantity of oil equivalent to that coming out of the upper hole, using a funnel.

How to change the engine oil and oil filter of the Ducati Monster 1200

Let's find out below the main instructions that will allow us to carry out the routine maintenance service, replacing the engine oil and oil filter, of the Ducati Monster 1200 motorcycle. First of all we put the stand on our motorcycle and start unscrewing the vent bolt of the oil that we find under the engine, letting it drain in a container for about ten minutes; after which we unscrew the oil filter cartridge, replacing it with the new one (screwing it in by hand and gently tightening). Finally we pour in the new engine oil, of the right type, checking the oil level!
