There is a technological method to measure the belt tension on the Kymco AK 550. By downloading a specific app called "AK550 tool kit" and following the instructions in the video, you can check if the belt is tensioned correctly. Remove the lower body-belt cover, position your mobile phone so that the microphone is very close to the belt, at the centre of the lower span: At this point, press the "start" button. In the following 10 seconds, pluck the belt at the centre of the lower span multiple times (at least 3 to 4 times). At the end of this operation, the measured tension will be displayed in newtons (N). If necessary, reposition the mobile phone and press the "retry" button.
