To replace the battery in a Mazda 3 remote key, detach the cover on the back of the remote by simply pulling it off. Now, using a screwdriver, pry under the chrome cover on top, removing it. At this point, you can also remove the front cover of the remote and then the circular battery cover located underneath. Once the cover is removed, you can extract the battery from its housing and replace it with a new spare part.
