How to Replace the Brake Discs and Pads of the Mazda Rx-8

Model: Mazda Rx 8 MK 1 - Years 2003-2012

To replace the brake discs and pads of the Mazda Rx-8, remove the front wheel, unscrew the 2 screws of the brake disc with a cross screwdriver, and using a 14mm socket, unscrew the 2 bolts holding the brake caliper while moving it; remove the brake pads and with a socket, unscrew the 2 bolts holding the pad bracket. Tap the back of the disc, insert a bolt into the hole where the disc screws do not go, tighten it until the disc moves, and then unscrew it to remove the disc. Now take the brake caliper, place an old pad on the piston, and clamp it to retract the brake piston; once the brake piston is retracted, clean the hub with a wire brush, apply copper grease to the hub, apply brake lubricant where the pads' clips go and on the back of the pads (on the sides); now reassemble the brake disc by tightening the screws and perform the same operation in reverse for disassembly. Repeat the same operation for the other discs on the car.
