Mazda Mx 5 - Video tutorial

Model: Mazda Mx 5 NB, MK 2 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Engine head
Operation: Intake manifold gasket replacement

Replacing the intake manifold gasket is quite simple, above all because there is enough space in the engine compartment to be able to disassemble and maneuver comfortably; it is basically a matter of unscrewing the fixing pins of the manifold to the head, freeing it from the refrigeration pipes in order to be able to move it away; once the manifold has been removed, remove the old gasket, clean the surfaces of both the manifold and the head and apply the new gasket making it adhere perfectly; finally reposition the manifold and tighten the relative fixing pins.

At this point, always keeping the accelerator pressed, press the brake pedal 5 consecutive times and, with the pedals in position, turn off the ignition. We check that the procedure has been successful by starting the vehicle.
