How to change the transmission oil on the Mercedes Vito/Viano

Let's see how to change the gearbox oil on a Mercedes Vito/Viano (with gearbox 722.6). It is an operation that requires some skill and it is essential to use the specific oil, namely Febi Bilstein 36449 which can be found on Amazon with code B00CD1N8YY at a price of 48.07 euros + 9.60 euros for delivery. First, we will drain the old oil from the pan, letting it drain into a container, which we will then dispose of correctly at an authorized center. We will then rotate the engine from the crankshaft (with a 25 mm ratchet wrench) by turning the converter until we find its drain plug; remove it to drain all the residual oil. Clean the pan, magnets, and gearbox mounting surface thoroughly. Replace the oil filter and the pan gasket, which we will reassemble with new bolts tightened to 8Nm. Fill the pan with 7.3 liters of oil. The new oil should be inserted through the level tube (where the dipstick goes). After adding about 5 liters, briefly start the engine and cycle through the gears (P-R-N-D) to circulate the oil and fill the converter. Check the level at 25°C using a specific dipstick, the Febi 38023 which can be found on auto-doc.it with code 101378 at a price of 28.65 euros + 9.95 euros for delivery. Reassemble all the elements, start the engine and check for any leaks.
