How do you reset the air conditioning system of the Mercedes C-Class?

The reset of the air conditioner controls on the Mercedes C-Class can be performed by connecting a diagnostic tool to the OBD port of the vehicle: this port can be found on the lower left side of the dashboard compared to the steering column.
