Oil change on a Mercedes SLS in a DIY manner.

On the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the dry sump system requires an orderly sequence: bring the engine to operating temperature, stop on level ground, and turn off the engine. Safely lift the vehicle. First, drain the oil tank of the dry sump system and then the engine sump/breather, using separate collection pans; replace the washer seals and re-tighten them in pairs. Address the oil filter: open the filter housing, replace the cartridge and O-rings, lubricating the new seals, and then tighten according to specifications. Proceed with a gradual fill of the oil tank with fluid of the specified viscosity and specifications, without exceeding the level. Start the engine for a few seconds, check for leaks, then turn off and wait for the oil to return to the tank. Check the level when hot as required for dry sump systems and top up as necessary. Record the mileage and date; if the warning is present, reset the maintenance interval from the instrument panel of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
