How to Replace the Key Battery in a Mercedes E-Class

Let's see how to replace the battery in a Mercedes E-Class key: from the remote body, extract the emergency key; there is a small latch on the side of the key. By pulling it out, the metal key will come out. Looking into the housing from which it came, you should see a small tab. Using a small screwdriver, push this tab to slightly lift the top part of the case. Take the part that has lifted (which is the entire battery compartment) and pull it out; inside the compartment, there are two CR2025 batteries, replace them with two new ones (which you can easily find at an electronics store or supermarket) being careful with the polarity. Close the cover and put the emergency key back in place.
