Replacing the Engine RPM Sensor

Model: Mercedes Classe A W169 - Years 2004-2012
Part: Crankshaft position sensor

First, perform this repair with the engine cold, as you will need to insert your hands between components that could otherwise be dangerously hot. Disconnect the connector from the RPM sensor, remove the mounting bolt at the base, and pull out the sensor (this step may be a bit challenging due to the strong adhesion between the sensor and its housing). Then, insert the new sensor, positioning the mounting hole downward, apply and tighten the bolt, and reconnect the corresponding connector.
