In this video, we talk about the symptoms that can be observed in case the head gasket of a Mercedes Class A version W169 is burnt, but the symptoms are essentially the same for any car. The first and most classic symptom is the presence of oil in the water tank with the presence of a horrible yellowish sludge; the engine light will then come on, because it will tend to overheat, and consequently we will have a loss of power. White smoke with a sweet smell will start coming out of the exhaust pipe, and if we bothered to check, we would also find dirty spark plugs. Under the oil cap, we will also find a viscous substance, also formed by the emulsion of oil with water.
