The dome covering the rearview mirror can be easily removed in a short amount of time, let's see how. First of all, we need to put the mirror in the closed position by gently forcing it, which will give us access to the inside in order to release, with the help of a flathead screwdriver, the spring that holds the painted cover to the rest of the mirror. At this point, we can bring the mirror back to the open position and gently remove the cover by pulling it towards us. If the cover does not come off easily and there is some friction or resistance, fold the mirror back into the closed position and check that the cover is completely unhooked. If the cover is broken, we can replace it with a new one simply by pushing the new piece towards the mirror until the internal spring snaps, and then we can try to gently pull the new cover towards us to verify that it is securely anchored to the rest of the mirror.
