How to remove the door panel on a Mercedes SLK R171

To remove the door panel on a Mercedes SLK R171, here are the general steps you can follow. Before starting, it is important to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety reasons. There are screws along the inner edge of the door, near the lock, that need to be removed. Remove the triangular plastic cover behind the external rearview mirror and the one of the internal handle. Under the cover of the internal handle there are other screws that need to be unscrewed. Remove the cap labeled AIRBAG and unscrew the screw underneath. Lever along the edges of the panel to release the pressure clips. Disconnect the cable of the internal opening handle and the connector.
