How to Remove the Airbag from a Mercedes C-Class W204/W205

Model: Mercedes Classe C W204 - Years 2007-2013

To perform this operation, disconnect the battery and wait at least 15 to 20 minutes to allow the airbag capacitor to discharge. Behind the steering wheel, you will find two small holes that provide access to spring clips holding the airbag in place. Insert a small screwdriver into one of the holes and push firmly until you hear a distinct "click," indicating that the first clip has been released. Now move to the other side and repeat the process. After the second "click," the airbag is free. Gently lift it and disconnect the electrical connectors located behind it. After removing the component, the airbag warning light will illuminate on the dashboard, which you will need to reset upon reinstallation.
