This guide shows how to replace the battery in the remote for the Mercedes Benz SLK 200 R171. The first step is to remove the emergency key by pressing the release tab at the bottom. In the newly exposed slot, there is a catch that can be moved with the emergency key; while holding the emergency key in place, use a small flathead screwdriver to disassemble the internal part of the remote. This piece contains the two CR2025 batteries. Reassemble the remote by following the steps in reverse.
