How to Open the Mini Key Fob to Change the Covers

This version of the Mini has a key fob equipped with a rechargeable battery (Panasonic VL2330) and generally, it is not necessary to replace it, as it is soldered to the electronic circuit and the fob shells are heat sealed. However, it is possible to open and separate the shells (and if necessary, replace the battery) by proceeding as follows: Start by extracting the blade from the fob and then remove the chrome ring applied along the edge of the two shells. At this point, use a craft knife to unstick and separate the shells to extract the complete circuit with the battery and transfer it to the new cases.
