How to Replace the Key Battery of a Mini Cooper

Model: Mini Mini R53, R52, R50 - Years 2001-2007

Start by pressing the silver button located on the left side of your Mini Cooper's key. This will release the internal emergency key, which you can remove. Next, using a small flat-head screwdriver, pry off the rear cover of the key. Once you have completed this step, you will reach the battery cover. Proceed to remove this cover. After removing this cover, you will find the exhausted battery, which you can take out, completing the disassembly. To install the new battery and close the key, simply reverse these steps, and the replacement will be complete.
