Descriptive guide for replacing the engine oil, gearbox oil, and final drive oil on a Moto Guzzi V7. Obtain 2 litres of Motul 7100 10W60 oil, 1 litre of Castrol Axle EPX 80W90, and 1 litre of 85W140. Position the bike on its side stand. Loosen the right exhaust bracket with a 6mm Allen key to access the drain plug. Start the engine, allow it to reach temperature, and then turn it off. Place a container for the used oil under the engine. From the right side of the bike, unscrew the three oil plugs located under the engine sump. The front plug (1) is 17mm using a ratchet and socket, (2) the rear plug is 17mm using a fixed star spanner, and (3) the central plug is 13mm using a ratchet and socket. There is a filter to clean in the hole of the third plug. Allow the oil to drain and clean the magnetic plugs thoroughly. Screw the plugs back in, tightening the two 17mm plugs to 12Nm. Unscrew the oil filler cap located on the engine casing on the left side. Pour in the oil using a small funnel (the manufacturer states 1.75 litres of SAE 10W60). Unscrew the gearbox oil filler cap located on the gearbox on the right side. Pour in 1 litre of 80W90 oil. Tighten the exhaust bracket. Position the container for the used oil under the final drive (located on the rear axle of the wheel). Unscrew the lower plug using a ratchet and a 13mm socket. Loosen the upper plug and allow it to drain. Screw the two plugs back in. Unscrew the filler cap located on the side with a 6mm Allen key. Insert 170cc of oil using a syringe and a tube. Screw the cap back on.
