Before proceeding with the engine oil change on the MV Augusta F3 675 (this applies to any motorcycle or car during maintenance), ensure the vehicle is securely immobilised to allow the operator to work safely. First, remove the right side of the fairing by unscrewing the indicated bolts. Once done, place a container under the engine oil drain hole (located directly beneath the engine block), open the filler cap to pour in the oil, and unscrew the drain bolt. Wait for all the old oil to drain from the engine, then drain the oil from the cooling circuit by disconnecting the hose, as shown in the images, and allow the oil to drain into the container. Also, remove the oil filter (located at the bottom of the engine, slightly above the drain hole) by unscrewing the two screws and replace the old filter with a new one (after replacing the seal and applying lubricant). Finally, close the drain hole and pour the new oil into the designated filler. Ensure the oil fills and circulates throughout the system by starting the engine after removing the fuse (location indicated in the images) for the fuel pump.

To remove the final drive from a BMW R 1200 GS, loosen the bolts securing the exhaust so it can be removed along with the rear wheel. The rear wheel will also be removed by unscrewing the five bolts that secure it to the swingarm.
