Now you can grab the gear knob and pull it upwards as well, which will completely extract the knob along with the gaiter. If necessary, remove the gaiter to replace just the knob; you can do this by simply pulling it off, as there are no clips or buttons holding it. Retrace the steps described in reverse for reassembly.
