To replace the gear knob on a Peugeot 207, use a tool to pry off the leather cover that wraps around the gear lever: once the clips at the base of the cover are removed, you can completely lift the covering and detach the clip that connects the knob to the cover. This will allow you to fully remove the gear knob from its housing: you can then position the new knob onto the corresponding lever, ensuring the clips at the base of the housing are secured.
