What to do when our Peugeot or Citroen car with automatic transmission sends us the distressing message on the display: "repair transmission failure necessary"? This does not necessarily mean that there is a problem with the transmission and that it needs to be repaired; it could be a problem related to the gearbox position sensor, or a wiring issue. It could also be a good idea to check the fluid level in the transmission; maybe just adding a liter of oil is enough: in fact, Peugeot transmissions are known for software problems, which can be repaired much more quickly and economically. Another problem could be related to the starter battery, which can also generate this error on the display.
