How to replace the steering head of the Peugeot 308 MK2

In this video, we will see how to replace the steering head of the Peugeot 308 MK2. We need to lift the car at its front and remove the wheels, so we can see the steering head, and we will have to clean the fixing elements with a metal brush and WD-40. With a marker, we make a mark between the tie rod and the steering head, so we can put it back in the same place. We disassemble the steering head, unlock it from the other side and then unscrew it, counting the number of turns needed to remove it from the threading. We will need this to put the new one back in its place. We measure the distance between the lock nut and the tie rod with a caliper, so we can reassemble the lock nut at the same distance. We reassemble the lock nut, take the steering head and make the same number of turns that were necessary to disassemble it, then reassemble the steering head on the pin, tightening it to 60 Nm, and the lock nut on the other side to 67 Nm. We can reassemble the wheel.
