What to Do If the Sunroof on the Peugeot 207 CC Does Not Retract into the Boot

The issue described is unfortunately a common problem with the Peugeot 207 CC: the roof opens but gets stuck in an intermediate position when closing into the boot; as a result, the rear hatch does not close completely because the system does not receive the signal that the roof is properly stowed. The problem is almost always a micro-switch in the boot that is not activated. Its role is to signal to the control unit that the roof panel is fully folded, allowing the hatch to close. It is not activated because the plastic lever that should push on it has worn out, or because the metal part of the roof that should press that lever is slightly dented. Manually close the roof to the point where it gets stuck; open the hatch and look on the left side of the compartment, under the plastic cover: you will find the black plastic lever. Check the metal part of the roof above this lever for any dents that prevent the metal from pushing the lever sufficiently. The idea is to create a spacer at the contact point. A 5 pence coin will suffice; clean the dented area and firmly wedge the coin into the dent. To prevent the coin from coming loose due to vibrations, apply a drop of silicone before positioning it. Try closing the roof, which should now close without issues.
