Video tutorial
To replace the rear shock absorbers on the Peugeot 3008 MK1, you will need a jack, axle stands, a 16mm and 18mm socket, a 13mm spanner, a Torx T27, a torque wrench, and a pry bar. Lift the car, place it on axle stands, and remove the rear wheels. Unscrew the three Torx T27 screws from the rear wheel arch (plus two plastic nuts and three rivets) to access the upper shock absorber bolts. Using a 16mm socket and extension, unscrew the two upper bolts of the shock absorber head. Under the car, clean and spray release agent on the lower bolt, then unscrew it with a 13mm spanner and 16mm socket. The lower bolt is secured by the handbrake cable; loosen it to remove. Extract the shock absorber using a pry bar. Prepare the new one: before fitting, it is necessary to bleed it by pressing the rod vertically several times to separate gas and liquid. Reassemble in reverse order. Always replace both shock absorbers simultaneously: they can be found on eBay with code 318925200755 for £62.69 per pair, with free delivery.
