Due to the cold temperatures and the lack of use of the scooter, it is possible that the battery may discharge. To restart it, it is not necessary to replace the battery, but to charge it using a charger or another means. To charge the battery of a Piaggio Medley 125, we must use a tested cable of about 16 gauge 25 mm. We open the seat to access the storage compartment and remove the battery cover in order to connect the cables. Unlike cars, the cables must be connected in a specific order: the red cable of the positive pole, which must be connected first, must be positioned on the receiver battery and on the donor battery, while the negative pole cable must be placed on a metal part of the receiver scooter and on the donor scooter battery. We turn on both vehicles to allow the current to flow and charge the battery. After about 10 minutes, we disconnect the cables from the battery and keep the receiver scooter running so that the battery can fully charge.
