How do you make the mixture for an old Piaggio Ciao scooter now that petrol stations no longer have a mixing pump? And what is the mixture? The mixture is a blend of oil and petrol that goes into the tank of all those devices too simple to have a separate lubrication circuit, thus lubricating the gears along with the petrol. The oil percentage can vary depending on the type of device, so we talk about a 2% mixture (as in the case of the Ciao) with 2% oil to one litre of petrol, but there are machines that require 3% or even 5%. So how do you do it? Always carry a can of 2-stroke oil, fill up with petrol, and pour the correct amount of oil into the tank, using a graduated container, as shown by our YouTuber in the video.
