If your Ram 1500's air filter is showing severe wear then it is time to replace it with a new model. Let's find out what the necessary steps are. Once your Ram 1500 has completely shut down and the engine has cooled sufficiently, lift the front hood and locate the box containing the air filter. Unscrew all the screws present with a suitable wrench and remove the protective cover. Once this is done, remove the old filter and install the new one. Finally, replace the cover and retighten the screws removed previously.

Be careful not to let any debris fall into the engine head while unscrewing the glow plugs. It is advisable to vacuum the glow plug wells before disassembly.
