How to Replace the Gas Struts on a Renault Scenic

Are the gas struts on your Scenic due for replacement? How to remove and reinstall them? This video shows how to replace the struts on the rear tailgate of a Renault Scenic. Lift the tailgate and secure it, then use a socket wrench to remove the securing screws on both sides of the rear lights. Remove the lights from the vehicle body and disconnect the power connectors, detach the worn strut from both ends and install the new piece. Secure the strut with metal clips. Repeat the same process for the removal/installation of the twin strut. Finally, reinstall the two rear lights and test the gas struts that were previously installed.
