How to Change the Gas Struts on the Rear Tailgate of a Renault Kangoo

To change the gas struts on a Renault Kangoo II, open the tailgate and support it with a prop (or a helper). It's best not to rely on the old struts. Have a flathead screwdriver and possibly some pliers handy. Remove the old struts that have spring clips or ball joint pins, which can be released by levering with a screwdriver under the clip. Ensure the new struts are the same length (about 70/75 cm), insert one end at a time, pressing until you hear a click. Then, do a test, remove the prop, and try opening it. The tailgate should stay in a halfway position.
