Replacement of Valve Lifters

Wear of the valve lifters is a common issue but can be easily resolved by removing only the upper part of the engine. Once the camshafts and old lifters are removed, lubricate the lifter seats with clean oil and insert the new lifters; also lubricate the support and sliding seats of the camshafts, then fit the camshafts and the fixing brackets, tightening the pins with a torque wrench in a cross pattern. Check the alignment of the timing references before installing the timing gears and then the timing chain.
