To dismantle the engine of the Sherco ST 290, you need to loosen the bolts securing the engine block to its housing: to free it, you will also need to disconnect all the relevant pipes and connectors attached to the engine block. Once the engine has been freed, you can loosen the bolts securing the cylinder and remove it from its seat: this will allow you to access the underlying piston, which must be freed from the connecting rod by removing the ring and corresponding pin. You will then be able to access all the additional underlying components for potential replacement.
