The Euro NCAP test results for the Smart #1 are excellent, representing one of the highest scores ever awarded, particularly excelling in adult and child protection. Adult protection scored an unmatched 96%, offering nearly perfect protection for the driver and passenger in the event of a collision.

The survival cell structure was found to be robust and stable. For children, the score was 89%, considered excellent, and 91% for driver assistance systems, also rated excellent, effectively preventing lateral slipping and maintaining the vehicle in a safe position.

Vulnerable road user protection (pedestrians and cyclists) was also good at 80%. However, there were some areas rated as not perfect: chest protection for the driver was deemed only 'adequate', and pelvic protection for the rear elderly passenger was rated as 'sufficient'.
