To replace the speakers in a Smart, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the outer cover of the speaker. Pry between the cover and the door panel, releasing the securing clips. At this point, puncture the inner cone of the speaker and break its plastic supports. This will allow you to extract the central piece and disconnect it from its connector. Now you can install the new speaker: it is advisable to remove the door panel and insert it from the inside.
