How to repair the mirror of a Smart Fortwo

Model: Smart Smart 451 - Years 2007-2015
Part: Side mirror

When the rear-view mirrors of the Smart fortwo tour "dance" it means that a cotter pin has been removed inside. It is a demanding job but it can be done: the mirror must be completely disassembled and the video shows you step by step how to do it, including how to remove the mirror glass (a very delicate operation) until we are in hand with the piece damaged and that we need to find a way to repair. We take this opportunity to repaint the mirror shell in order to make it prettier. But let's go back to our part to be repaired: We have to beat the toothed washer until it is flattened again so that the teeth can also fit into the groove. Groove that we are going to make deeper than half a millimeter. To reinsert the washer in the groove, you need a bench vice; only in this way will the mirror regain its functionality. We reassemble all the components following the accurate description of the video: naturally you will have taken advantage of the opportunity to thoroughly clean all the components, so that they are practically new again. If we now try the mirror manually we notice that it doesn't dance anymore, and it takes a nice shot highlighting the opening. You can refit the mirror on the car.

How to Replace the Rear Wheel Bearing on Peugeot 407

How to remove a rear wheel bearing along with all associated parts on a Peugeot 407? Position your car on a column lift, loosen the bolts with a socket wrench and raise it to a comfortable height. Unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel, then start unscrewing the bolts of the brake caliper to detach it from the bracket. Use a socket to loosen the caliper bolt. Now remove the caliper bracket and unscrew the bolts on the brake disc, pulling the disc towards you to slide it off the wheel hub. Completely remove the wheel hub from the car's arm and extract the worn bearing. Using a pressing tool, fit the new bearing. Before reassembling everything, clean all dirt and debris from the disassembled parts with brushes and lubricate the components. Refit the brake disc with all associated bolts.
